February 2021 Market Update

As I’m doing my February Market Update, I'm reflecting back in my last 20 years of real estate sales here in Calgary, and this is definitely one of the most dynamic markets that I’ve ever worked in. This seems to be a phenomenon that's happening in many jurisdictions throughout North America.

For Calgary we still have lots of people moving here from around the world because we're a world class city — clean and beautiful and very affordable. We’re seeing people coming from other parts of Canada, as well as lots of people moving here from BC because of our costs.

Also, there's a lot of young people getting to the market here for the first time. They were spurred on by the ultra low interest rates. I'm not sure how long those low rates are going to last, but they're here now and that's really spurring sales activity.
